We at ECBC pause to remember and honor our veterans today. Thank you for your service to your country and to all of us.
Words for you from Jesus in John 14:27:
27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.
From Psalms 46:
1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
And Joshua 1:9:
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.May these Bible verses be an inspiration for those who have served and those who continue to serve. Both groups can certainly use these words of assurance in uncertain times. Our prayers are with you and with all who love you.
We have lost some fine veterans recently here at ECBC. We share the pain of all who are remembering and mourning today the loss of their fine heroes and heroines of conflicts past and present.
We pause to remember those who have returned to the God, and rest in the assurance of Revelation 21:4 that their struggles are at an end:
4 [God] will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away.
